INWRDAM is an inter-governmental, autonomous organization operating under the umbrella of the Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
The Islamic countries are aware of the importance of water for the continuous development of the Ummah
INWRDAM's mission is to foster closer cooperation among all the countries of the Muslim Ummah in the field of development and management of water resources and establish linkages with the international water community. In pursuit of this mission, it seeks to generate ideas and policy directions through intensive dialogue, studies and research on a continuing basis.
Membership in INWRDAM is for OIC countries. Each member country in the Network designates a top official to represent a ministry or organization dealing with research and development of water sector in that country.
INWRDAM member states at present are composed of the following 18 OIC countries:
Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mali, Niger, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Yemen.
