Seventh Governing Body Meeting

The Opening Ceremony included a welcome speech by the Executive Director of INWRDAM (ED) and an address by H.E. Dr. Mohammad Ali Mahesar and welcome address and an address by H.E. Prof. Dr. Adel Tweissi, Secretary General of the Higher Council for Science and Technology, President of INWRDAM.

H.E. Prof. Dr. Adel Tweissi requested H.E. Dr. Mohammed Mahesar, Assistant Coordinator General of COMSTECH to chair the meeting for the following Agenda items and Mr. Mahesar accepted.

The ED announced that the quorum of this ordinary GBM is complete by having more than one-third of the required quorum as per INWRDAM Statute article 7 Item 5.

The GB adopted the following resolutions:

Resolution #1/2010:
INWRDAM should pursue whereby additional opportunities are sought of involving industrial and private sector in wastewater treatment and management projects.

Resolution #2/2010:
INWRDAM to look for opportunities of involving the private sector in improving water and wastewater services based on positive experiences of involving private sector in the provision of the domestic water services.

Resolution #3/2010:
INWRDAM to circulate a concise survey form to collect basic information on wastewater treatment and reuse from its member countries.

The GB thanked the Chairman for conducting the meeting professionally and elegantly. The GB also thanked the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for hosting this GBM in Amman.

The GB approved the minutes of the 7th GBM and H.E. Prof. Dr. Adel Tweissi thanked all participants for their useful recommendations. The GB members requested H.E. Prof. Dr. Adel Tweissi to convey their highest regards and esteem to HRH Prince El-Hassan Bin Talal for his continued support to INWRDAM, OIC and COMSTECH organizations.
